Research Seminar Series

Research seminars are held every Saturday from 10:00–11:00 AM EST (10:00–11:00 PM Cambodia Time), with two speakers presenting at each session. Each speaker will have 15 minutes to present, followed by a 15-minute Q&A. During the presentation, the first 5 minutes should briefly highlight the speaker’s upbringing and early educational background, focusing on experiences that shaped their academic journey. The remaining 10 minutes should be devoted to their current research, clearly explaining the problem, its significance, and key findings or goals. Presenters should avoid field-specific jargon and use clear, accessible language, as the audience includes individuals from diverse backgrounds. Using analogies is strongly encouraged to help make complex ideas more understandable and engaging for a general audience. ​The goals of the seminar series are to help participants get to know one another more deeply—not only through the work they are currently doing, but also through their upbringing, early educational background, and what inspired them to pursue STEM. The seminar also aims to help members strengthen their organizational and oral presentation skills.
