Sovann Khan
Currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at the International Institute for Carbon-Neutral Energy Research, Kyushu University in Japan, Sovann focuses on advanced materials and devices for hydrogen energy. He holds a Ph.D. in Nanomaterials Science and Engineering from KIST and UST in South Korea, a Master’s in Environmental Engineering from INHA University, and a Bachelor’s in Biological Science from the Royal University of Phnom Penh.

Born in Svay Rieng province, Cambodia, I began my studies at Svay Rieng High School before earning a Royal Scholarship to pursue a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering at Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology, Thailand, graduating with first-class honors. I later completed an MSc in Environmental and Information Studies at Tokyo City University, receiving the 2024 Student Paper Encouragement Award. I am currently a Doctoral Researcher in Urban Ecological Planning at Tokyo City University, focusing on nature-based solutions for climate-resilient lowland landscapes and advancing data-driven environmental planning for sustainable, adaptive communities.
